About me
Hi I'm Tony, I am a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and I am passionate about road safety and the need to give a solid grounding in safe and eco style driving skills.

I have been driving for over 40 years, 25 years in company cars and 15 years driving buses and coaches, all without picking up a single penalty point. I hope I'm not tempting providence!

I became a driving instructor because I wanted a job with real satisfaction and there is nothing better than seeing someone pass their test first time. I was also always being told by friends and work colleagues that I was a calm, relaxed and caring type of person and that I would make a great Driving Instructor. I was fortunate to be trained by LDC in the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the training I give will be of the highest standard.

I chose to work with LDC because every new learner driver is unique and different in their learning experience and the LD System allows for flexibility in lessons so that you learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. The LD System just helps me to do this more effectively. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease during lessons.

So who am I and why choose me to teach you to drive? I have recently moved to Barnstaple after living in the Oxford area for 23 years. As a Christian I have great compassion for people, recognising that we are all different in the way we learn and see the world. Teaching you to drive is about sharing the experience together realising the potential you have. You will find that I encourage and bring out the best within you but also help you to remain calm when learning processes are challenging. You might even find that you not only take away a pass certificate but also a new found confidence that equips you for life.
